About This Hike

The Rwenzori Mountains, often referred to as the “Mountains of the Moon,” are a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site located in western Uganda. Rising to 5,109 meters at Margherita Peak, they boast some of Africa’s most dramatic landscapes, including lush forests, unique flora, glacial peaks, and crystal-clear alpine lakes. Get ready to explore one of Africa’s hidden gems and create memories that will last a lifetime! 🌿✨ Hiking Mount Rwenzori is an extreme adventure, reaching a maximum elevation of 5,109m and covering a challenging 40km route. Rated as extremely hard, the trek demands an average moving time of 6-12 hours per day.

Please Note:

Mountain Rwenzori isn’t a beginner friendly hike, please only sign up if you have climbed Mount Elgon or another multiple day mountain above 4000m high. It is important that you take at least 1 rock climbing class before you come for the Rwenzori trip. Learning how to work with a rope while climbing is a great added bonus. Endurance & breathing training is highly recommended months leading to this climb. Ensure to fill out our health and safety form. Cost Covers
